About Richard A. Freeman was born September 25, 1949 to Frederick C. & Patricia Y. Freeman Jr. in Waukegan, Illinois. Richard went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 6, 2010. Richard was born with nephrosis, a kidney disease and not expected to live past age 13. The Lord blessed him allowing him to live to 60 years of age.
Richard served the Lord in his daily walk through life working in the Jail & Prison Ministry in Kansas City, Missouri prior to moving to Georgia. He was a member of Chapel Hill Harvester Church for 20 years where he served as a deacon, head usher and covenant community leader. He was involved in numerous ministries including the Nursing Home ministry and feeding the homeless.
Richard graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 1968. During high school he was employed with Walgreens rising up the ranks to store manager. He was subsequently employed with Johnson Products Company ultimately becoming the National Sales Manager before becoming self employed. Prior to going home to be with the Lord he was employed with Georgia Soccer where he enjoyed helping people throughout the state. Rich would go the extra mile to assist anyone either calling or coming into the office.
Richard was an avid motorcyclist and a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. He enjoyed playing golf and cards and became active in soccer when his son, James, started playing at age 3.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Rose Marie, son James, mother Patricia Y. Freeman, brothers, Milton (Diane) Levy, Frederick III (Mary), Arthur and Kevin (Sasha) Freeman, sisters Sylvia St. James, Valerie (Michael) Worthington, Nadine Duncan and Patricia (Anthony) Sangster and brothers-in-law Scott and Bruce (Marlene) Liss and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
