About Audrey Mae Roebuck, 80, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Life Care Center of Orange Park, Florida. She was born on June 19, 1930, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Audrey was salutatorian of South Huntingdon Township high school in Westmoreland County, PA, in 1948. Audrey then met the love of her life, Warren Carl Roebuck, and they were married June 19, 1952, at the Christ Lutheran Church in West Newton, PA. In Pennsylvania, Audrey gave birth to two children, Sandra and Lisa. Together they moved to Bradenton, Florida, in 1970. Audrey then graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.A. in Education in 1978. She taught elementary school for three years in the Manatee County School System in Bradenton, FL. Audrey was a member of Christ United Lutheran Church in Bradenton, FL. She taught Sunday school and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Singing was one of Audrey's greatest passions, and she could often be heard singing "God Bless America." In 1985, Audrey and her husband Warren left Bradenton, FL, to move to Jacksonville, FL, to be near their grandchildren, Nicole and Justin. Audrey loved to travel on road trips and has visited every state but Hawaii. Audrey was also a great cook and known for her cherry pies and nut bread. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Warren Carl Roebuck. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Mae Roebuck of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and Lisa Carol Veal (James) of Jacksonville, FL. She also has two grandchildren, Nicole Marie Morrill (Timothy), and Justin Lee Veal, both of Jacksonville, FL. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Interment will be held at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery of Triangle, VA. The family wishes to recognize Life Care Center of Orange Park, FL, and Hospice of Northeast Florida for their loving care of Audrey.
