ANNOUNCING THE 45TH REUNION OF YORKTOWN HIGH SCHOOL, CLASS OF 1965 You are invited to attend a weekend of events to celebrate the 45 years that have passed since we graduated from Yorktown High School. A committee has scheduled several get-togethers, right in our hometown stomping grounds. We trust that you are eager to see your old pals and we will do everything possible to make this party a great success. When: October 22-24th, 2010 Where: Friday – Starting 4pm, Informal warm up at Murphy’s Irish Pub, Yorktown Heights Saturday – 5pm Party & Dinner Dance in the Ballroom at Holiday Inn Mt. Kisco. Sunday – Noon to Dusk, Picnic in the Park, FDR State Park (aka Mohansic State Park). Details of Weekend Events Friday, 10/22 - Murphy’s Irish Pub is located at 355 Kear Street, Yorktown Heights, NY, 10598 (off Rt. 118, just before Hanover Rd). Happy hour is 4-7pm and moderately priced. Check it out at http://www.murphysyorktown.com/. Lots of other spill over bars in area. Saturday, 10/23 - The Holiday Inn Mt. Kisco (aka Hudson Valley’s Country Inn) is located at 1 Holiday Inn Drive, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549 just 15 minutes from Yorktown. A block of rooms (group Yorktown 65 Reunion) is being held for us at $119.00/night (plus tax) which includes breakfast, parking and internet. Saturday evening happy hour starts in the bar at 4pm. Dinner, prepared by Country Manor Catering, is at 7pm in the Ballroom. A buffet menu is on the hotel website. After dinner, we’ll listen to anyone with anything to say. For laughs, and to remind us how far we’ve come, we’ll project any old school day and recent digital photos and short videos that you care to submit, hopefully with a caption. A DJ will spin some dance tunes for us till midnight. Sunday, 10/24 – A picnic pavilion is reserved at the FDR State Park (aka Mohansic State Park), 2957 Crompond Rd, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 from noon till dusk. Visit at www.nysparks.com. Water, beer, hot dogs, sausage, kraut and utensils will be provided. Any food or drink that you’d like to donate will be most welcomed. In fact, if any classmate is foolhardy enough to host this picnic at their home, private club or yacht, we will gladly forgo the State Park venue. Just let us know in time to promote the alternate gig via email. Cost: Our dinner dance and picnic is $85.00/person, $10/person picnic only. To make this party happen, a non-refundable deposit has already been paid. Help defray this cost to the Committee members by reserving your place now. Another deposit is due soon, so please, send money now. If something comes up and you cannot make it, a full refund will be available up to 2 weeks prior to the event.
