Ken, "The Tile Man", Steltenkamp, Class of 1955 died of cancer, May 8, 2009. He is survived by his brother, Jerry ,Class of 65, his daughters Melisa and Vanessa, and son Todd ,
(Molly) and two grandchildren.

James Merton Murphy (Jim), Class of 1959, passed away on November 8, 2007 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, June Murphy; his daughter, Kim
Murphy (38); and his granddaughter, Jessica Gardner (17), Jim, June and Kim moved from Cincinnati to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1978. Jim had a long and successful career with Motorola, then General Dynamics, and retired in January 2007. He graduated from the University of Phoenix in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems. He was an active member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church, singing in the 100-voice Sanctuary Choir for over 10 years, traveling with them to sing in Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Italy. Services were held at Mountain View Presbyterian Church on November 15, 2007. Nearly 100 people were in attendance, not including the nearly 75 choir members who attended the service to celebrate his memory. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is dearly missed by all of those who loved him.

Helene Vernita Tyler, Woodward class of 1971, died of cancer 23 June 2008 in Upstate New York after a stellar 20-year teaching career overseas with the Department of Defense Dependents School System. She was teaching at Lakenheath High School on the U.S. Air Force Base in England at the time of her illness. Hélène started her teaching career in Louisville, Kentucky, and shortly afterwards she moved to Maryland, where she taught school for several years in nearby Fairfax County, Virginia. She attended George Washington University and earned a Masters in Special Education. A memorial service was held in Louisville, Kentucky on 5 July 2008, and she was inurned in Cincinnati on 7 July 2008
