About	Michael Dean Ferguson, 50, of Vinton, went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 30, 2011 after a long illness. He was born on March 21, 1961, the son of Melvin Ferguson and the late Peggy Ferguson. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jasper and Virginia Meeks. Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jackie Ferguson; one son, Ryan Ferguson; his father, Melvin Ferguson and his companion, Mary E. Spradlin, of Hardy; his sister, Becky Ferguson, of Roanoke; his nieces, Stephanie Hall and Tori Hall, of Roanoke; his brother, Kevin and Alice Ferguson, of Roanoke; his aunt, Shirley Rakes, of Rocky Mount; his cousins, Debbie and Tony Amos, of Martinsville, Mark Maxey and fiancÃ©e, Judy, of Rocky Mount; his brothers-in-law, Steve and Tonia, Alex George, of Vinton, Abraham George Jr., Gina and Felicity, of New Zealand; his sisters-in-law, Sue and Huey Fisher, of Vinton, Mary Settles, of Roanoke; his half sister, Drenda Weaver, of Florida; and his beloved pet, Marley Girl. Also special thanks to his longtime friends, Anthony Dillion, Kenneth Yearout, W.J. Correll, Danny Chittum and Robert Hinager. Mike worked at Ingersoll-Rand for 16 years and currently was employed at ITT Execlis for eight years. Mike was a beloved husband, father, son and brother. He loved fishing, hunting and NASCAR racing. The family would like to thank Roanoke Memorial Hospital ICU nurses and doctors for their great care they gave Mike. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at noon on Thursday, January 5, 2012 with the Rev. Johnny Basham officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens January 4, 2012, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Arrangements by Oakeys Vinton Chapel, Vinton.
