Wethersfield High School Ice Hockey Alumni News:
The WHS Hockey Alumni held their 5th golf outing on October 2nd, 2010 at the Goodwin Park Golf Course. In a close contest, the foursome of Jim Indermaur, Spensor Indermaur, Doug Indermaur and Andrew Hock prevailed (picture attached). There was a 2nd place tie between the foursome of Matt Mason, Mike Mason, Dave Mason and Gregg Donahue and the foursome of Joe Gurtowsky, Jim Corrigan, Mike Dibattisto, and Mark Plavcan. In separate contests, Dave Mason won the Longest Drive ; Matt Mason was the winner on the Closest to the Pin and Jeff Gronback won the Putting Contest.
All proceeds from the outing are donated to the Wendell Coogan Scholarship Foundation. To date, 21 scholarships have been earned by graduating senior hockey players.
The scholarship is named in honor of Coach Coogan who started the Varsity Hockey Program in the 1970’s. Coach Coogan was recently inducted into the WHS Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame.
SAVE THE DATE… The Alumni Ice Hockey Game and Dinner will be held on December 18th, 2010 at 2:30pm at the Trinity College Hockey Arena. More info will soon be sent.
