About	Steve Sommers was born in Beloit Wisconsin. He grew up in Orange County, California. He was a graduate of Western High School, Anaheim -- class of 1965. In Jan. 1966 he entered into a 4 year apprenticeship in Sheet Metal at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. Despite the vital work of servicing the fleet, he was not exempt from the draft. On Aug. 23 1967 he was inducted into the Army as a 11B. He started his tour in Vietnam on Feb. 12, 1968. He served with Troop C, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division Mechanized. On May 9, 1968 he was Killed In Action by an RPG.
