Billy was inducted into Appalachian State University's Reich College of Educatiion Distinguished Alumni Society for his outstanding teaching career of 30 years. this past July 2006.
He also has a brick on the Wall of Fame at ASU Stadium for his soccer playing career of 4 years playing/1 year coaching.1972 Southern Conference Champions.
He also was inducted into The Wheeler HS; Marietta, Georgia Faculty Hall of Fame, where he was a teacher and coach.
He also was selected as a field marshal for the 1996 Olympic Soccer Games.
