About	Janis passed away at age 45 after a two year battle from liver cancer resulting from breast cancer. She was a wonderful wife and mother leaving husband Jim and two sons, John and Jason. She was living in Rochester Hills, MI. After graduation from high school Janis majored in Home Economics at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, graduating in 1970. She married Jim Myers in Dec 1970. Janis was a Home Ec. teacher at the brand new American High from 1970-71. Jim got his masters from Stanford and they moved to Michigan where he worked for GM. They had two sons. Janis had just completed her masters and was employed as a high school administrator when she discovered she had an agressive form of breast cancer. She had one sister, Shirley Barksdale McMurphy, class of 1960.
