Jack Thorne

Class of 1971

Class of 71 (I believe)
I would like to nominate my late father, Jack Thorne. Jack was a very talented musician and athlete who attended his high school years at Wamego High. My father past away suddenly this year at the age of 54. He had just lost his father, Maurice Thorne, two months prior and the same day my grandfather died his only sibling, Mike was diagnosised with terminal cancer. This had a life changing impact on my father who began to realize that he truely wanted to make his mark in the world with his talents before it's too late. However, three months later, he passed away, without making his mark the way he dreamed of. I can not give my father his dreams at this point, but what I can do is mark the places he touched in his life.
I want to dedicate myself to preserving my father's memories. Wamego was the beginning. He was active in sports and music with Wamego. I would like to have my father honored in the hall of fame to give him his "mark" because he did leave a mark, he left it with the ones he shared his life with and Wamego was part of that.
