About Me | I served in the Army, worked in the airline industry, spent a couple of years at Columbia Basin College. Moved to Portland, married, did mortgage banking, weight lifting, karate and running. 1970, moved to British Honduras. Taught high school and ran my martial arts school in Corozal Town, then returned to Portland and mortgage banking. Published short story in Ellery Queen's, 1977. In 1980, divorced amicably, no kids. 1981 I worked for a major bank in downtown LA, Export Letter of Credit Negotiator. Later, Export Manager for a natural foods and cosmetics manufacturer. 1983, I was hired by a Chinese computer industry startup (Microtek) in Taiwan. I spent 6 years there, first with Microtek, Regional Marketing Manager, then Link Communications (satellite data coms), International Marketing Manager. I speak Chinese, Spanish, and get by in other languages. Ran with China Hash House Harriers (a drinking club with a running problem), spent time in Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, China. Then I met and married my wonderful wife Belinda (Pan, Hsu Hwa) in Taipei. Early1990's we came to the States, Belinda became a US citizen. I started export consulting business; built company for an Egyptian, dealing medical supplies in Middle East. Late 1990's, moved to Phoenix, Arizona, Quality Assurance Manager for manufacturer of electronic security devices, designed and built production line. Contractor for Motorola and other firms, technical writing. Started inventing, went into "semi-retirement", received US patent, and have a number of other designs in development. I'm a desert rat, exploring really remote places, mostly in the Superstition Mountains near Phoenix. Found dinosaur bones, nests with eggs. Current hobby: searching for meteorites. My son by a previous marriage, Eric, is a supervisor in the oil patch. I'm a great grandfather. Belinda and I have two pet turtles.
