Scott just recently became critical care nurse certified. Scott a graduate of VCHS in 2001 and OU in 2004 as an associates degree prepared nurse. He is currently pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Nursing in which we will graduate in june of 2007. Scott currently works at The Ohio State University Medical Center as an ICU open heart nurse. Scott was also invovled with the cardiothoracic surgeons in taking care of the first total artifical heart implantedat osu and in central ohio. Cleveland Clinic is the only other hospital in the state that does this and only 12 nation wide. Scott hopes to become a flightnurse for MedFlight and continue his education to become an Acute Care Nurse Practioner. His CCRN certification is predented by the American Association is Critical Care Nurses. The accomplishment of this certification offers additional validation of a nurse's advanced clinical knowledge anf tangibly demonstrates a commitment to patients, and families as well as employers and collegues.
