About Me | Clenzoil was developed in 1948 by a gentleman by the name of Christian Lenz. Mr. Lenz was a scientist, engineer, author, adventurer, soldier, shooter and outdoorsman. He invented Clenzoil after returning from World War II where he saw weapons (light and heavy) freeze or "jam" after heavy and continual use during numerous battles during the war. It was his goal to develop a product that would be an effective cleaner, lubricant and rust-preventative for weapons and other types of equipment that were forced to function in hostile environments. Little did he know just how good a product he was formulating. He started working on his product in 1945 shortly after his return to the civilian sector and finally completed his formulation design in 1948. What made his "discovery" so unique was that he realized that it wasn’t just the raw or modified combined components that made the product so effective, just as importantly, it was the process of how they were combined that enhanced the effectiveness of the formula! It was at that time that Clenz-oil....or Clenzoil as it soon became known, was developed! One of the first industrial users of the product was the Atomic Energy Commission, who in 1950 was instructed by President Truman to “expedite” development of the worlds first thermonuclear device. At that time, the Los Alamos Laboratory was attempting to separate large enough quantities of plutonium from uranium to produce enough fissionable material to manufacture a hydrogen bomb. It was discovered very early on that the process was highly corrosive on the coolant system plumbing and much of the other equipment used in the process. Clenzoil was chosen as the “protectant” or corrosion inhibitor that would work in such an extreme environment. Later on, Clenzoil was used to rehabilitate “tool & die” equipment, factory equipment and heavy equipment that were exposed to catastrophic fires, which left raw surface metals exposed to the elements after extreme heat was applied to them. Many times the water and other fire retardants applied to the blaze can actually accelerate the rusting which will begin to occur, sometimes minutes after a fire is extinguished. Today, Clenzoil is used to “prep” or protect, heavy and light equipment before it leaves the factory on its way to the customer. Marine Diesel companies use it to clean fuel injectors and the tools they use to work on the engines themselves. Clenzoil is even used in the injection molding industry for cleaning and lubricating the molds....we even sell it to the wood lamination industry to clean and prep their “molds” or trays. In August of 2006, the Clenzoil Worldwide Corporation, LLC relocated its factory and corporate offices to Tampa Florida. This was primarily done to enhance its International Shipping capabilities. Tampa Florida is one of the most efficient international shipping ports in the US today. It acts as a major port of c...(read more) |
