New VHS Buildings On the Way
I was in Venice mid July, 2012 and drove by the school. Demolition crews were tearing down the last of the old VHS main North/South hallway and East side classrooms (as we knew them in the late 1970's) including the old gym locker room and gym, the Science/Physics/Chemistry classrooms and Math classrooms. Looks like the old VHS campus buildings are now history, but they are replacing with state of the art buildings that will serve students for many decades to come. I will be singing with two other girls for the grand opening of the black box cabaret in Murdock at the Charlotte Players rehearsal hall on Friday and Saturday night. VHS 2010 graduation event
An all-night, graduation celebration, dedicated to safe and healthy choices for our current graduates, will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Venice YMCA immediately following graduation ceremonies. Let's support our newest, soon-to-be members of the Alumni Association by providing either volunteer service the night of the event, or more importantly, incentives to stay the entire evening for this cost-free event to the students! As of April 2010, more funds are needed to provide for contest prizes, as well as cover the cost of the event. Any suggestions, ideas or input from any VHS graduate, from any class, is certainly welcome.
