What is Jacoby Shaddix known for?

Jacoby Dakota Shaddix, born July 28, 1976, is an American musician and TV presenter. Born in Mariposa, California, Shaddix has made a name for himself in various music genres such as hard rock, alternative metal, alternative rock, nu metal, rap metal, rap rock, and electronic rock.

Shaddix is most well known as a founding member and continuous lead singer of the California-based band Papa Roach. Not only did Shaddix form the band in 1993, but he has remained an active member up till today. During his time with Papa Roach, Shaddix served as host of the MTV show 'Scarred' for its entire cycle, balancing this role with his music career until he eventually left the show due to touring demands.

Beyond his music career, Shaddix is also one-third of the rock-inspired clothing line "Lovers Are Lunatics", working in collaboration with designer Jeff Henry to showcase their unique creative vision and represent the rock community.

Throughout the course of his career, Shaddix has shown immense commitment to his musical passions, serving as the lead singer for a post-hardcore band called Fight the Sky from 2002 to 2004. This band allowed Shaddix to express the heavier side of his vocals, releasing their debut album Seven Deadly Songs in 2004.

Shaddix's musical evolution is evident in his work with Papa Roach. From rapping in their early albums, which he stopped with the 2004 album "Getting Away with Murder", to later embracing it again in the 2012 album "The Connection". Shaddix and Papa Roach's connection with the nu metal genre is something he has looked back on with pride, seeing it as a part of their identity that they have managed to outlive and celebrate simultaneously.
