Johnny Hansel Jr.

Class of 1978

Hey friends, especially graduates of ‘78 (or ‘79, ‘77, and 76)… I love my memories of our High School experience! Thank you all.

Susie and I dated from the end of my Jr year for the next five years. We were married June 25th, 1983. Do the math, you can know we’ll celebrate our 40th year together this year! I started ministering in 1982. So it’s been my pleasure (and sometimes my struggle) to serve Jesus 41 years.

Susie and I have two daughters, both married, one near us in Columbus, the other in Oregon. They’ve blessed us with three grandchildren so far. Susie’s mom and my mom and dad are still with us as great-grandparents. Susie and I are privileged to care for them.

I’ve written a book, published by Harper Collins. It’s called Amphibian Diaries, A Field Guide for Truth Seekers. You can get it on Amazon.

Over the years since 1994, we’ve enjoyed our four Golden Retrievers: Gilly, Graeter, Kobe, and Gus. Kobe and Gus have been trained as service dogs.

I feel like I should say, serving you as Class President for three years was a joy which has provided me with great memories all these years. And I still have nightmares of missing the catch in the endzone in the Northand game. Lol and I will forever be grateful to Trck Coach Randy Pfiffer for helping me get the scholarship to run for The Ohio State University. (One of our records was beat in 2022. It stood for 40 years. (Happy for the guys who broke it, but honestly, also bummed.)

Brothers Jeff and Jayson live in Florida, Orlando and Tampa respectively.)
