What is Timothy Reckart known for?

Timothy Reckart Jr., born in the United States around 1986 or 1987, is a distinguished animator and film director. Originating from Tucson, Arizona, Reckart is a noteworthy alumnus of University High School. He is widely recognized for his wide-ranging contributions to animation, particularly in the realm of puppet stop motion.

Reckart's affinity for arts and storytelling took him from Tucson to Harvard University, where he delved deeper into his passion, studying History and Literature. Upon concluding his undergraduate studies in 2009, he further honed his craft at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, UK, graduating in 2012 from the Directing Animation course.

His body of work includes impressive projects that he has either directed, written, animated, edited, or produced. The most significant of these was his 2012 animated short film, "Head over Heels" which brought him into the limelight with an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short Film in 2013. Later on, in 2017, he directed "The Star," a Christian computer-animated film based on the Nativity of Jesus for Sony Pictures Animation.

Today, Reckart is based in Los Angeles, where he continues to work on various animation forms such as multiplane collage animation, digital 2D animation, and pixilation.
