About	CYRIL, Leslie Ann, age 60, has died in Irvine, CA. A community educator at Hoag Hospital and UC Irvine Medical Center, Leslie was a passionate mentor to and advocate for hundreds of cancer patients over the years, pointing them to public sources of information about nutrition, clinical trials, treatment options and spiritual sustenance. A Winter 1969 graduate of US Grant High School, Leslie earned her Bachelor’s degree from Pacific Western University. She studied classical music with a private vocal coach as a teen and spent several years performing professionally as a singer at various venues, including Universal Studios, the Trubador and as a “warm up” performer for the Smothers Brothers. Eventually, her energy was directed to cancer patient education, and through her own triumphant 25 year battle with ovarian cancer, was an inspiration and role model for oncology staff and patients, even winning an appointment to an NCCN panel as a patient advocate. Leslie will be remembered as a die-hard Dodger fan, deeply spiritual soul, loving “mommy” to her beloved cats, up-front and honest friend, lover of red velvet cup cakes, serious shopper and movie and mystery program fan. She truly loved family, often sharing beloved stories about her parents and grandparents. Leslie is survived by her parents and sister. She will be sorely missed by the many whose hearts and souls she touched and nourished.
