About	Ricky Joe Hood, of Eufaula, formerly of Hitchita, OK was born December 8, 1950 in Oklahoma City and passed from this life on November 10, 2009 in Muskogee. He gave his life to the Lord when he was a child, and surrendered to preach when he was a teenager. He graduated from US Grant High School in 1970, joined the US Army and was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He worked at the post's mail center until he received an honorable medical discharge and returned to OK. Ricky lived in Tulsa for several years and worked as a custodian for Sears and later worked for Muskogee Regional Hospital and the Creek Nation. He also worked delivering newspapers and liked visiting with his customers. Rick loved to sing, and sang in the choir at all the churches he attended over the years. What he loved most of all was visiting with his family and friends. He made friends everywhere he went, and if you were his friend, you were his friend forever. He loved getting together with aunts, uncles and cousins, but he had a very special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. We are grateful to God that we know where Rick is right now and the joy he is experiencing now will never be taken away from him.Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Geneve Lucille (Peterson) Hood, and one niece, Amanda Hood. Survivors include 1 brother Michael Hood and wife Brenda of Hitchita; 1 sister Gaye Thompson and husband Reg of Eufaula; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and many many friends.Funeral services for Ricky will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hitchita, OK with the Rev. Jim Waller officiating. Casket bearers are Reg Thompson, Jr., Scott Hood, Michael Hood, Andy Pierce, Travis Gardner and Junior Cooper.
