My life's work has been varied, enjoyable, challenging and interesting. There was even a short stint working for the IRS. You might say I had three different careers. From graduation to about 1975 worked for various companies in California, Oregon and Virginia as secretary/administrative assistant. Also during that period attended college. From about 1975 to 1992 was accountant for companies in Washington, the cities of Coos Bay-North Bend, Oregon and a new prison in Nevada. From 1995 to my retirement in 2010 was prison administrator for an institution under the direction of the Virginia Department of Corrections. My retirement opened new horizons. My time is spent as companion to my husband of 45 years; research, gardening, and writing family histories, one of which is on file at the Trinity County Historical Society. It all started at Trinity County High School. With the help and attention of two outstanding teachers, an extremely timid and introverted individual was able to accomplish much and have an outstanding life.
