Jakob Irwin

Jakob Irwin

Class of 1999

Since graduating in 1999, Jakob Irwin has gone on to college and persued his goal of changing the lives of people with disabilities. In his quest to reach this goal, Jakob has become an icon name in the disabled community around the sacramento area. It is here that he began coaching for several differant adaptive sports including, Adaptive track and field, Wheelchair basketball, Goal Ball(soccer for individuals that are blind), and Power Soccer( soccer for individuals in wheelchairs). In his quest, jakob has also been involved in several camps for both adults and children with both physical and developmental disabilities. Wampler Kids Inc. is one camp in particular that jake favors among the rest, being that he is the only counselor that still attends the camp, that has been there since it first started. When Jakob is not helping individuals with disabilities, he is in a lab creating prescription glasses for people with difficulties with there vision. Jake Pursued his double bachelors in therapeutic recreation (recreation for people with disabilities) and Adaptive Kinesiology (physical education for individuals with disabilities)
