The Alumni Wall of Fame
Joe Strucel, class of 1966

Silver Star recipient and true American hero, killed in action in Vietnam, March 5th, 1969.

He fought and perished for freedom, with his comrades by his side,
And though he gave his life for his country, he never really died.

His memory will live on forever, and his legacy will grow,
In the hearts and minds of his loved ones, as on with life they go.

In a cemetary in Detroit, a white stone marks where he lies,
But the love he had for those he left, can be seen in all their eyes.

When you see a grave site with a small flag, simple and plain,
Remember him and give respect, for he didnt die in vain.

He gave his life so that you and I can be free to live our own,
And cherish the fact we were allowed to see our children grown.

God bless our fallen heroes as they tread on heavens lands.
May their glory live forever in this land where freedom stands.
