About	Nevin Douglas Dellinger, 60, of New Market, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg following a lengthy battle with cancer. Doug was born Jan. 19, 1957, and was the only child of Nevin P. and Betty Newland Dellinger of New Market. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and James Madison University. Doug was a former schoolteacher for Shenandoah County Public Schools. He had also been associated with his parents in the operation of their shop, Shenandoah Valley Crafts of New Market. Doug had also been a part-time assistant with Theis Funeral Chapel of New Market. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Harpine Dellinger, whom he married May 31, 1980; a son, Andrew Dellinger of Germantown, Md.; and a daughter, Melanie Dellinger of Harrisonburg. Doug was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market, where a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Revs. Jeffrey Sonafelt and George Sims will officiate. A reception will follow at the church. Friends may sign the register book at any time at Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market. Memorial contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 896, New Market, VA 22844. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market and the Harrisonburg Cremation Service.
