About Me | Bruce is a common sense Conservative. Conservative principles are America's founding principles that have endured decades worth of testing. These principles include limiting the scope of the state government, fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, free market solutions, individual responsibility, and promoting religious faith. These are the principles Bruce Nichols believes in. Born and raised in Michigan, like his parents and his grandparents, Bruce grew up in Livonia. After graduating from Livonia Stevenson, he attended Central Michigan University for one year and then transferred to Wayne State University. At Wayne State, Bruce played four years of college football and graduated with a degree in business. Upon the completion of college, Bruce, along with his family, started a small business in Detroit. After 29 years the business, DCI Aerotech, has gone from three employees to thirty-five, from one building to five. Bruce is running for Governor of Michigan. His common sense Conservative principles and strong Christian values are exactly what Michigan needs right now. Not on the fence or ready to cross the aisle, he's prepared to make tough decisions, that will again, make Michigan one of the best states to live in. BRUCE ON THE ISSUES The Business Climate... Governor Granholm has spent the better part of her eight years as governor driving people and businesses out of Michigan. This is done first by eliminating the Michigan Business Tax and replacing it with spending cuts only. Secondly, we need to establish a Taxpayers Bill of Rights and lastly we need to make Michigan a Right to Work state. Education... I believe anything or anyway to increase competition will benefit the children, for example, vouchers, charter schools, school of choice or home schooling. Health Care... The only health care reforms that will make a positive difference are those that reject the government reforms and instead draw on the strength of the free market, like tort reform, tax deductibility to individually owned health insurance, portability and incentivizing employers to fund HSAs. Competition, not regulation, would ...(read more) |
