About	Raymond J. Parsons, 84 of Sterling, passed away Tues., June 17, 2014 in Brush. The Funeral service was Fri., June 20, at 10:30 am at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Raymond J. Parsons spent his life a resident of Logan County, Colorado, and was a very mean and physically abusive man all the while I was growing up out on his farm, which is probably why his first wife Lola Vivian Anderson, and his second wife, Patsy Lee Bradbury, both left and then divorced him. After I left home at 17, he married his third wife, Birdie Elizabeth Held, who would not put up with any of his nonsense, and he began to mellow some. However, he never once apologized for any of the abuse, the effects of which continue to divide the family. His obituary was posted in the Sterling Journal Advocate on June 19, 2014.

While RJ Parsons was hard-working and appeared an upstanding member of the community, he was a pedophile that hid what he was doing out in the fields and down by the South Platte River. Back then in rural America of the 1960’s nobody took a child’s word over an adult. Later, the dangling of inheritance kept some children’s mouths shut into adulthood, and even now.
