SUNDAY OCT 31 2021 UPDATE - As of this morning we have 77 people planning to attend, with a few more 'maybe's.'
I've checked a number of potential venues: Wakemans is too small (50), Westport Inn is under reconstruction and is not accepting reservations, Longshore is almost fully booked and only has Thursdays available during August/September. I have made tentative reservations for two places for 10 September 22, which by those who voted for a date, was the second most popular (by far) after those who were fine with any date. The Black Duck can host up to 140 people using the whole restaurant and back porch (possibly more using tents in the parking lot, will investigate), and will provide a live band and a reasonable buffet. The Norwalk Inn can host up to 196 with a dance floor, or 220 without, but in addition to food, beverages, and tips requires a $1,000 room fee that must be paid in advance to hold the room, and we'd have to contract for the entertainment. The Inn does not expect us to have to put down that $1,000 until the spring, but you never know, it will depend on someone else also wanting the date.
I am contacting people to get their reservations from Facebook, Classmates, and Alumniclass but would really appreciate any and all help reaching out to people who might want to come but are not on any of those platforms.
I will soon be asking for people to sign up to help with specific tasks, such as Treasurer, decorations, managing other events (walk on the (Compo) beach, Friday at Zapatas, etc.), etc. I think we are off to a great, early start on this!

I have been looking for alternative sites for the reunion. As we know, Longshore is not available, nor is the Westport Inn. Wakeman's capacity is only 50, so too small. The number of restaurants from 'our days' in Westport that are still around is limited, but I suggest that we have a very good option in The Black Duck! This is their offer (I'm in favor of cash bar, pay for your own beer, wine, and hard stuff) - but I'd like some comments on that, and in comparison to the much more expensive Norwalk in option, then I'm going to post a poll (on Facebook - for Classmates, just give me your thoughts here). These are the Duck's two offers:
