About Me	After High School, I worked for the F.W. Woolworth Company full-time. I went on the Assistant Manager’s 2-year Training Program in September of 1986, and after 1 ½ years in the program, I received my first store. I managed a medium store in Webster, MA for 2 years. In 1990, after increasing my store’s sales by more than 30% and having one of the largest profit margins in the district, I was then promoted to Associate Store Manager in a large store in North Dartmouth, MA. After two years, I was then promoted to large Store Manager in Wakefield, RI where I ran and closed the store in February 1994, including it as one of the country’s most historical landmark chain stores to be closed. In April 1994 I started working for the Northfield Savings Bank and have been working for them ever since. I have been in my current position as Purchasing and Mailroom Manager since 1995. In that period of time, I have taken several A.I.B. (American Institute of Banking) courses, which have enabled me to receive a General Banking Diploma, Banking & Finance Diploma, Bank Operations Diploma, and most recently my Advanced Financial Services Diploma. Since starting at the bank, I have been on the Wellness Committee. I also am on the bank’s Ten Den Committee which helps plan an annual gathering of those current and retired employees having been employed at the bank for more than 10 years. I also volunteer for the Annual Flying Pig Footrace held every Labor Day in Northfield, VT. I have spent some of my time volunteering with the Green Mountain United Way (GMUW). In 2004, I was NSB’s Loaned Executive for the 2003-2004 campaign. I was awarded the Thomas N. Pelletier Loaned Executive Award in 2004. Since 2004 I have been serving on the Funding Resource Committee. In 2006-2007, in the GMUW’s 1st Annual Talent Show, “A Kaleidoscope Of Talent”, I was the Committee Chair, and have volunteered each year for this event in some form or another. I have also served on the GMUW Board between 2008 and 2010. More recently in 2013 I have been serving on the Marketing Committee and have been designing and contributing to the Community Impact Blog for the GMUW since September 2013. I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) in the Barre Town Cub Scout Pack 717 for 5 years between 2006-2010 and was a member of the Pack Committee between 2007-2010. I was awarded Cubmaster of the Year in 2009 for all of Vermont. Previously, I held membership with I.S.M. (Institute Of Supply Management) in the Vermont Chapter and serve on the Board of Directors since 2011. I helped design and create an ISM-VT, Inc. website of which I also administer. This has been up and running since February 2014. I had previously been involved with the Annual New England Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition (NESCON) since 2008, but have attended the conference since the late 1990s. As well as serving as Exhibitor Chair, and having done so since 2010, I also was a member of the Northeast Supply Management Group (NSMG), and served as a committee member. I have been involved with the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness & Sports Worksite Wellness Conference since October 2011 as the Exhibitor & Sponsorship Committee Chair. I am involved with the Vermont Governor's Council on Physical Fitness & Sports Corporate Cup & State Agency Race volunteering at the registration table between 2012 and 2014. I also coordinate my employer's involvement in registering teams for the race. I have been involved since July 2012 as a committee member of the Worksite Wellness Alliance of Vermont (wWAVE). I am also a volunteer blood donor for the Red Cross 4-5 times annually since 2004. I have 30+ years of purchasing management experience. Outside of my regular job and volunteerism, I am an avid Music and Movie buff. I enjoy playing chess, watching NASCAR, writing poetry, and computer networking. I am married, with a wife and 2 sons, and live in Graniteville, VT. We have 1 cat! So, what makes me tick? Love of life, family, and friends is key.
