Brandy Everly, class of 1992

Brandy has overcome a great deal. In the span of four years she lost her father to cancer, was separated and divorced (the divorce was a nasty three year long mess). Her exhusband was an abusive alcoholic. She went back to school full time, while being a part time teacher and homeschooling her three children as a single mom. Also during this time she cared for her partially disabled mother and helped when she could when her family found out that her brother also had cancer.

Brandy has also devoted time to her church. She was the Nursery Director in charge of completely remodeling the infant nursery as well as scheduling Nursery Ministers to care for the infants as well as their families. She aslo initiated Care Giver Training.

Brandy has always relied on her faith and prayer. She was part of the Government Prayer Circle at her church which concentrated on praying for our government leaders and various issues and bills brought before Congress.

Brandy was also in charge of printing the weekly Bullitins for her church, which then opened up doors for a home business printing Business Cards and Holiday Greeting Cards.

She taught Jr. Church to 4th-6th graders and has also been very busy with the youth group. She has gone on several trips with the youth including a Missions Trip which ministered to the poor in Sioux Saint Marie.

Brandy has also been very passionate about teaching Hearing people American Sign Language, Deaf History and Deaf Culture. She has taught in a local Public High School and also in private settings around the community.

Brandy has done all this while giving her children and extended family all the love and care she could give. Brandy's faith and family are the most important things in her life. Her faith also led her to find the man of her dreams. She says that God himself chose this man for her. She and her fiance, Marshall Whitehurst will be married September 2009.
