To honor Coach Cifra

I contacted Coach Doug Gatewood, the varsity coach at South now, about dedicating the home coming game this week to Don Cifra. As most of you know he was South's first head football coach and recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. Coach Gatewood said that it was not his decision but he graciously agreed to go to the decision makers and see if it could be done. He stated that Coach Cifra was a friend of his family but that a dedication had not been done thus far. Hopefully it can get approved on short notice. I will let everyone know if I hear anything. In the mean time try to get to the game if you can. If the dedication comes through it would be great to show support and appreciation for Coach Cifra.
