Jake Fishman, born on February 8, 1995, in Newton, Massachusetts, is an American-Israeli professional baseball player known for his abilities as a pitcher. He started making waves back in 2013, during his time at Sharon High School in Massachusetts, where he truly honed his skills in baseball, eventually getting named to the Hockomock League All-Star First Team, and to the Massachusetts All-Star Team. Fishman's exciting journey began during his senior year when he experienced a 7-inch growth spurt, and he hasn't looked back

After high school, he joined Union College in New York. In his college career, he achieved phenomenal success with an impressive 0.41 ERA (Earned Run Average) in 2016, making him the leader in college baseball that year. These accomplishments earned him several recognitions including Liberty League's Pitcher of the Year, Player of the Year, All-Liberty League First Team both as a pitcher and utility player, and an All-American mention from D3baseball.com.

His professional career kicked off when he was selected in the 30th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. His major league debut came in 2022 when he stepped on the mound for the Miami Marlins, holding an ERA of 4.09 with six strikeouts by the end of the season. After a brief stint as a free agent, he signed up with the Oakland Athletics in a minor league deal in December 2022, further solidifying his career in baseball.

Aside from his significant contributions on the field, Jake is also recognized for his commitment to his Jewish roots. He attended Hebrew school, had his Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Klal Yisrael in Sharon, Massachusetts, and in 2019, he cemented his connection to Israel by obtaining Israeli citizenship.

Throughout the years, Fishman has demonstrated a consistent commitment towards his passion for baseball. Whether he's playing in the major leagues, representing his country in international competitions, or imparting his knowledge to young players, he continues to leave a significant mark in the world of baseball.
