Fellow 1957 SHS Classmates, Mark you calendars and get ready! On Saturday May 26th we'll be celebrating the 55th anniversary of our graduation from Sedan High School. So start making your own plans right now, and start encouraging your SHS57 friends to do the same!!!! Let's work to have a great turn out! The day starts at 9:30am with coffee & such at our “Welcome Back!†social at the Country Club. This will run until about 11:30 am or so. To prepare for this, everyone practice saying: "Wow! You've hardly changed at all." or "Gee, how do you stay so young-looking?" or even, "Good gosh! You must work out a lot to keep your belly that flat!" The door prizes go to the people that keep the straightest faces :)......... At noon, the SHS Alumni Banquet will be held at the city park. We'll have a section reserved and can all sit together as a class. The banquet details follow below. Thirty minutes after the banquet, it's back to the Country Club for happy hour refreshments and fifties music at the Blue Devil Canteen. If you have your annual, old school pictures or newspaper clippings, 50's garb, school sweaters, or such, this is the place bring'em and show'em off! We'll probably have a fill-in-the-blank contest for, "Do you remember the time that _____________ ?", with a door prize going to who gets the most laughs.... Please do you best to attend. It's going to be great to see everyone. Tickets will be $15.00 if purchased ahead of time. The week of the banquet the price will increase to $20.00. We will have tickets available to purchase at the First National Bank. You may call the bank and order tickets but will need to send a check for us to hold them. The bank will be open the 26th so alumni can stop in and pick them up that morning or whenever it is convenient. The address is and phone number is: First National Bank P.O. We will try to get a list of the classes that are having reunions and who to contact in the paper also. So far I know of four classes that are planning reunions: 1957, 1962, 1977, and 1982. I don’t know if you all have heard but the Gregg Theatre is going to need a projector upgrade by the end of 2013 in order to remain open. Everything is going digital – no more reel to reel. This is going to cost around $60,000.00. Anyway as you know the theatre operates solely from volunteers. We know that everyone attending the Alumni Banquet has at one time or another had fond memories of attending the Gregg Theatre/Chief Theatre while growing up in Sedan. In previous years we had buckets at each table for donations that went for scholarships or other projects at the school. This year we are planning for all the donations to go toward a new projector at the theatre.
