About	Dr. Greg Henderson, an alumni of Saydel High School, passed away February 8, 2017 in California. He was 48 years old. Greg was a beloved son, brother, friend, spouse and Dada. He was survived by his parents, Ray & Joyce Henderson; 6 sisters, Cindy, Melody, Pam, Valerie, Debbie and Joy; his spouse, Matt Freeman; his daughter, Marie Elizabeth and many extended family and friends. Dr. Greg was the only son of his parents, Ray & Joyce Henderson. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and our memories are numerous!! His joy and shinanigans will stick in our memories forever and always make us smile! He was quite accomplished in just about everything he ever did in life! Those who knew him in high school, know he was involved in just about everything and excelled in most! He was involved in jazz band, swing choir, ALL the plays and musicals (not just involved but starred in all of them!!) and was involved in marching band as well-he was the drum major his senior year and was on the homecoming court!! He even conducted a band in downtown Des Moines, IA!! He loved his down town Des Moines!!! He was very involved in the church with multiple singing competitions that he did with his sisters. Of coarse, they won many of those competitions!!! He was also involved in Bible Quiz with his sisters, oh the great times they had!! He was always up for fun and believed that if you are going to do something, do it well and have fun!!! Our motto was, "Get out and be popular!" Greg contiued his success by getting his masters & doctorate in family phycology. He taught as a professor in the Marriage & Family Therapy Program at USC, in California, since 2010. He also had his own private practice as a Marriage & Family Therapist with offices in Venice & Beverly Hills. He received his eduction & training from UCLA (BA 1997) & Antioch University (MA 2003) & Pacifica Grad. Institute (PhD 2009). The number of lives he touched and impacted are too numerous to count!! He will be missed but what a legacy he left!! Greg adopted his daughter (from birth), Mazzy, with his partner Matt, in 2013. He was a wonderful Dada and will be missed terribly!! Greg struggled to recover from a heart surgery & suffered a series of recent set backs . He was surrounded by close family & friends when he passed Feb. 8, 2017. A memorial service was held on March 5, 2017 in Venice, California.
