About Event
Margie Boltzer Cottone is a 2001 graduate of Saratoga H.S and was part of the cross country team. Her and her husband, Tony, have a 19 month old, Jayden, and a 6 month old daughter who was not supposed to survive the pregnancy due to the fact that she has Thrombocytopenia with Absent radius (TAR), a very rare syndrome that affects .42 in every 100,000. She and her husband moved back north to get help from family with Lexi, Margie quit her job to do research and bring Lexi to all the drs appointments. Then just 2 weeks after getting settled her husband, Tony, had 2 major seizures. After getting images taken they found his frontal lobe to be taken up by a tumor, too big to remove all of it. He will underwent a craniotomy on May 4th in which they were able to remove about 20% of the tumor but since then he has had numerous seizures, slurred speech and a blot clot in his leg. I feel as a community we need to help someone in need! The TAR was one thing, Lexi will endure numerous surgeries including arm lengthening and straightening her legs etc then to find out Tony has a brain tumor (he was the one supporting the family), its just too much for one family to carry themselves. There will be a benefit to help the Cottone Family on June 11th at the Inn at saratoga featuring food, music and a live auction. All proceeds go to the family and it would be great to have more Saratoga Alumni there to support a fellow classmate. When one falls down, we must lift them up!
