Born James Eric Anzalone on October 6, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio, he moved during his childhood and grew up in Watertown, New York, and Santa Barbara, California. Later on, he pursued theater and music at the University of Miami and completed his education as a summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Film and Media in 2012.

Notably, Anzalone's illustrious career includes his notable stint as the Leatherman/Biker of the disco supergroup Village People, a role he beautifully portrayed from 1995 to 2017, taking up the mantle from original member Glenn Hughes. His career also spanned across various stage productions worldwide. Some of his notable performances include the character of Berger in the European tour of HAIR and a singer for Princess Cruises.
