What is Kathy (Wernly) Clark known for?

Kathy (Wernly) Clark is a celebrated American author, best known for her versatility in writing across genres such as contemporary romance novels, young adult mystery, new adult romantic suspense, and erotic romance. In her writing career, she has also used pseudonyms like Kris Cassidy and Bob Kat, with her husband, Bob Wernly, as a co-writer for some works.

Born in Houston, Texas, Clark spent her childhood in Alvin, Texas and is a proud alumna of Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas. Her writing career kicked off with the sale of her first book to Dell for their Candlelight Ecstasy romance line in 1983.

Clark's journey as an author reached new heights in 1989 when she sold "Sweet Anticipation" to Harlequin American, leading to a fruitful association with Harlequin editor Tahti Carter. With 23 women's fiction (romance) novels under her belt, Clark's books have sold over 3 million copies in more than 10 languages. Her works have earned her a spot on the New York Times’ bestsellers’ list and won her numerous awards.

Apart from being a successful author, Clark is also an academic achiever. In 2015, she graduated summa cum laude from York College of Pennsylvania with a BA in Mass Communications and Fine Arts, boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA. She was later invited to teach as an adjunct professor at York College, where she took an upper-level media writing class.

Clark's collaboration with her husband, Bob Wernly, led to the creation of a young adult time travel mystery/romance series called "Time Shifters" under the pen name Bob Kat in 2012. From 2013, the couple started co-writing all their books. They self-published three books in their new adult series "Scandals" under the name Kathy Clark.

In 2015, the couple's "Denver Heroes" series was published by Random House, followed by their "Austin Heroes" series in 2016.
