Class of 1962
This was the third basketball team that won the Midwest Conference. Some of these team members were on the 1961 Midwest Conference Champion Team. This team had four little starters and one big starter. Ron Olson, Dick Olsen, Dick Chapman, and John Brown were the small starters and Bill Arndt was the " big " starter. This team not only was conference champions, but were also sectional, district, and substate champions. They were only the second team from Sac City at that time to go to a State Basketball Tournament. In fact, they are the only team to go to a State Basketball Tournament and bring back some medals. Not only did they get individual 4th place medals, but also brought home a fourth place team trophy, which is in your trophy case outside the gym.
