A graduate of Rustburg High School the Class of 1978 (note she graduated early to pursue her interest with husband Doc Smith) & should have graduated in 1979. Her story is remarkable as to how to overcome adversity in life and strive for new heights & great success.

Cathy Lynn born Kathy Ann Eagle in 1961 was taken from her parents at the young age of 18 months old because of neglect. The story is told that she was found out in a field holding her youngest sibling Robert under a tree & having 5 other siblings also taken from the home. Later adopted by an older couple (Fleshmans) from Rustburg, she found herself with no idenity, & no knowledge of her background until recent years.

Cathy Lynn despite the many obstacles that she faced even in her adopted family circumstance, over came the odds of being bitter, & angry to become one of the most positive, influential ladies in today's society. In recent years she finally met the younger sibling Robert back in 1997. Cathy's adopted life prove also not to be a fairy tale ending, with much conflict & a constant beraiding by her then adoptive mother, she found herself always wondering, "...what can I make of all this negitive & build a positive lifestyle"?

Well now years later Cathy Lynn is VP of A&R & Artist Affairs has a multi-talented background having played & performed since age 4. She is an accomplished pianist, starting at the age of 4, & a talented singer. She recorded her first gospel album "Cathy Lynn Sings" in 1985 with producer Russell Easter of the Easter Brothers.

She found herself loving behind the scenes more than on the front stage; though she is willing to assist from time to time in the studio for backup vocals. Having a keen perfect pitch ear for music, she is also quick to point out what a Artist is missing in light of the contemporary image & vocals needed in a competitive new age market, yet she holds true to classical traditions that help round a Artist's image & material.

Cathy Lynn has been ask to judge several talent contest for radio stations & special events. Some has coined the phrase, "...she is the female Simon Cowell of judges. Put her & Simon Cowell on the same panel & it would make the greatest Artist cringe at their critique". She is tough, but when one enters on stage she expects you to bring the goods, or step aside.

Cathy Lynn married to T R Doc Smith for 30 years June 3rd, & with their three sons, Terry, Justin & Travis she continues the pursuit of happiness in her family & music, hoping to find other siblings in the near future. The story is told that she may have even went to Rustburg High School with her sisters, Carol or Cindy Eagle. (Not to have been found as of yet)
