About	ROBERDS, RICHARD 1942 - 2014 Richard Roy Roberds, 71, went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 5, 2014. He was born on September 27, 1942, in Wyandotte, MI to Roy and Mary Roberds. He grew up in the downriver area, graduated from Roosevelt High School, and received his undergraduate and graduate degree from Wayne State University. He also attended Columbia International University graduate school. He married Linda Baldwin in 1965 and they were blessed with three children: Dawn (Rick) Gerent and children, Troy and Lexie, Taylor, Tyler, Tory, Tommy, and Timmy; Greg and children, Josh and Ashleigh, Aubrey, and Paige; and Thomas and son, Hudson. Rich's career in nursing was extremely varied from teaching, administration, state consultant, and mission service in Ivory Coast. When returning from West Africa, the family moved to Jenison where they were blessed by serving at Fair Haven Ministries and currently Wellspring Community. After retirement, Rich's desire to serve encompassed working at camp Hiawatha, which he loved because it was there that he was introduced to his Savior as a teen, to Florida where he worked at Pioneers, Wycliffe, Campus Crusade, and Life for Youth Camp. Rich loved spending time at their cottage, which he built, located at Piatt Lake Bible Conference Association. He loved camping with his family as they grew up, spending time with his children and grandchildren, thrifting with his grandsons (or alone), collecting, traveling in his little RV, woodworking, riding his Harley, and volunteering. He was a hard-working man who could fix anything and a devoted follower of Christ. Rich is survived by his wife, Linda, of 48 years; his sister, Carole; and brother, John. The family will be receiving friends at Wellspring Community Church, 4466 Bauer Rd. Hudsonville, MI 49426 on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 7-9 PM and Saturday, May 10, from 10-11 AM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following the 10 AM visitation at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hiawatha Youth Camp, P.O.
