About	Douglas Cobb Obituary Douglas E. Cobb PEORIA - Douglas E. Cobb of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, where he was cared for lovingly. Doug was born on December 12, 1955, in Lake City, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Patty (Callahan) Cobb; mother, Melva; and two siblings; as well as many in-laws and nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Buck." Doug graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Caterpillar for 33 years. With early retirement, he was able to spend nine winters in Florida, where he enjoyed playing guitar, singing with friends and tinkering in his garage. An avid golfer, woodworker and tool collector, Doug kept busy with his many hobbies. He was a Birdie Chaser (golfing group), member of The Old Man's Club (woodworkers) and Lloyd's Breakfast Club (CAT buddies). Doug was a big guy with a soft heart; his warm personality and quick wit were a treasure to those who knew him. He rarely met a person or a tool he didn't like.
