About	Janell Louise Davis August 9, 1961 - June 14, 2021 Obituary Janell Louise Davis passed away June 14, 2021, two months shy of her 60th birthday, due to complications from an infection. She was born on August 9, 1961, in Portland, Oregon, in what was once the Portland Sanitarium and Hospital, which was always a joke among her family. She graduated from Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, garnering many awards for track and gymnastics. A natural athlete, she enjoyed fly-fishing, golfing, and many wilderness adventures. Janell served in the US Air Force Reserve for many years in a civil engineering squadron, achieving the rank of tech sergeant. She started working as a graveyard weigh-station attendant at the St. John’s Landfill while she put herself through PSU, where she graduated in 1998 with a degree in Economics. Eventually she worked her way up to managing Metro’s Hazardous Waste Facility. Although the last twenty years of her life were overshadowed by her struggle with alcohol, Janell never lost her sense of humor and her ability to make friends wherever she went. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. She was preceded in death by her father, John Edward Davis (d. 2003), and sister, Sharon Anne Walsh (d. 2014), both of Portland. She was survived by her mother, Isabel (Liz) Davis of Clackamas, Oregon, until her death on November 11, 2021. Survivors include her brothers Michael Davis of Houston, Texas, and Jeffrey Davis (Jeanne) of Milwaukie, Oregon; brother-in-law Tim Walsh of Tucson, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
