In 1970, Helen remarried to Herb Vance adding in a step-brother Douglas Vance and a step sister, Debbie Vance. In 1972 the family moved to Oak Grove where she grew up and attended Rex Putnam High School.

Julie was married to her high school sweetheart Randy Hopperstad from 1977 to 1980. In 1978, they had a daughter Amy Marie. In 1984, Julie started working at Kaiser hospital. She loved her job and was happily employed there for over 35 years. Julie married Kenny Morris in 1990. Their love lasted through 2005. They have two children together, Joseph Benjaman born in 1990, and Ashley Marie born in 1992.

Julie always had a huge heart for animals. When she was young she would bring home any stray she could find. She brought home several dogs and cats, bunnies, horses, and even a monkey! She always had a special place in her heart for horses and dogs. She got her first horse for her 16th birthday and from that day on there was no way to take the cowgirl out of her heart. She has had so many dogs and horses it would be hard to name them all!

Julie loved the outdoors. She really enjoyed camping and rafting and could sit outside in the warm sun for hours. She enjoyed craft sales in the fall and winter with her daughters and mom. She really loved spending time with her family and friends. She was supportive in anything her family wanted to do. Julie was always there to support her kids from trying to get Amy to love horses, to boring track meets,to volleyball games, Julie was always there. Joe’s t-ball games, soccer games, skateboard competitions, or Subaru meets, Julie was always there. Ashley's cheerleading, OHSET meets, Canby games, W.H.O. competitions, rugby games, Julie was always there. She was always there to support her grandkids from teaching Chazany to ride a horse and compete in Canby games and W.H.O at 1.5 years to watching her dance recital and never ever missing a soccer game. She also loved watching Delilah do her gymnastics lessons and Lilianna in her swim class. She was very excited to teach Kaiden the ropes of farm life. Julie was also there at T- ball games, baseball games, basketball games and dance competitions in support of her nieces and nephew.

Julie was a 4-H leader, a 4 -H horse advisory leader, an OHSET coach but most importantly she was a beautiful and loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandma, and friend. Julie is survived by her mother Helen Vance; daughters, Amy Amaya (Joe) and Ashley
