To The Members of the Class of 66,
In June of 2016 it will be 50 years since we attended Senior Prom and Graduation. Our Prom was entitled, “Four Winds on a Dark Night.” We left PHS and started our “Life’s Journey” into adulthood. Some went on to College, or the Service, while others stayed and raised their families' right here in Pleasantville. We were also part of a generation that didn’t start up a local business or go into a family business, but instead went on those “Four Winds” to all different parts of this wonderful country.
Jinx Remson and I have been looking for our Class Members for almost two years and there are two things we have learned. First that it is really, really hard to find people even in this day and age of computers and secondly that you talk with these folks and share memories and it seems like it was only yesterday that we last saw each other. This Makes Us Feel Like We Are, “Forever Young”!
We have finally been given a graduation date for the Class of 2016 by the Pleasantville School District. There is a Tradition at Pleasantville High School, that when your class reaches their 50th Reunion, your class walks with the present day graduating class. We will also be given a tour of the High School and the Staff at Pleasantville High will serve us dinner in the cafeteria and then we will move on to the Commencement Walk.
Your Reunion Committee is still gathering information on the Mini Cruise and the Dinner and We are getting Prices on Rooms at the Doubletree and also at other hotels close bye. We want this to be a centrally located Reunion so class members can enjoy themselves and not have to drive all around. For those who are not interested in the cruise, the hotel has a beautiful lobby and a very nice restaurant. There are plenty of things to do around town and I will compile a list.
So far our plans look like this:
FRIDAY: Tour at 4:00 PM.
Dinner in the Cafeteria. Free to Class Members, $5.00 for Guests.
Commencement Walk.
Leave And Meet In The Old Village At Michaels. (Indoor/Outdoor Seating)
SATURDAY DAY: Mini River Cruise up the Hudson
Leave From Tarreytown Around 9:00 AM.
Return Around 2:00 PM.
SATURDAY EVENING: Dinner Dance At The Doubletree Inn.
Located In Tarreytown. (We chose the Doubletree because in 1966 it was the
Tarreytown Hilton, where we celebrated our Senior Prom.)
SUNDAY BRUNCH: At the Tarreytown Doubletree.
Many of the other classes who have done the Commencement, have presented the School Administrator with a gift. Some give checks so that the school can get new things that they need. We would like to follow suit and have our class dedicate something special that the school needs. Class of 65 gave a check to the school which will pay for a new trophy case and it will have a small plaque acknowledging their gift. We will find out what they need and pass the information on to our members.
As you probably know this all costs money. We are working hard to keep costs down, but an undertaking of a 50th Reunion is expensive and venues, music and cruises etc. all need to have partial payments up front. So we are reaching out to our class members asking you to send a donation to help us.

We need all our members to send in their payments to Jinx. We have to give a head count to our Doubletree, Cruise up the Hudson and the High School for the Walk and Dinner.
Trinity Cruises has a cut off of June 01, 2016. Any spaces left will then be opened to the General Public. Payment for the Cruise goes directly to Trinity Cruises. They prefer that you send a check, but they will do Credit/ Debit Cards. The boat is handicap accessible but space is limited. Call Mary Pat before sending your money and make sure there is space available.
We are so excited to see all of you and it is going to be a wonderful party.

On Friday we will be doing the Traditional Tour of the High School, after which we will be served Dinner in the Cafeteria and we will do the Traditional Walk with the Graduating Class of 2016. Afterwards, we will meet at Michaels, in the Old Village in Pleasantville. The picture on the left is Michaels as it looks today and the picture on the right is the Old Village Deli, directly across the street from Michaels.
