About DELAWARE: Mark R. Kegelmeyer, age 53, of Delaware died unexpectedly at home Tuesday morning, December 3, 2013.

Born on March 31, 1960 in Columbus, he was the son of the late John A. and Carol Sue (Mills) Kegelmeyer. A graduate of Marion Pleasant High School in 1979, he wrestled and was an exceptional member of the football team.

Coming to Delaware in 1996, he owned and operated Del-O Plumbing in Delaware. A member of Kings Mill Golf Course in Marion, he was a fan of all sports, especially the OSU Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and San Diego Chargers. An outdoorsman at heart, he loved to hunt and fish. Mark looked forward to vacations and traveling on new adventures or camping, even in the backyard. He was at his best at home, fishing in his home built pond or on the Great Lakes.

Kind and compassionate, he was always dependable. As one who kept busy, he was always building or improving something around the house. Work was considered a hobby; he found it hard to say no in whatever the task or request may be and treasured time spent at home or with family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Terrie (Chapman) Johnson; children, Ashley, Jennifer Kegelmeyer, Jason and Karen Dixon all of Delaware, Joshua (Mikka) Dixon of Jackson, Colleen Pharr of San Diego, CA, Mitchell Wallace of Columbus; 20 grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Sandy) Kegelmeyer of Rochester, NY, Thomas (Debbie) Kegelmeyer of Columbus; sisters, Susan (Daniel) Hotz of Mason, Katherine (Randy) Ziesler of Athens, Joann (Doug) Dible of Richwood. His pets, Pudgy, Tweeny and South Paw, were also very special to him.

Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:30-11:00 at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr., Delaware, where services will follow 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with Rev. Linda Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County, 4920 St. Rt. 37 E., Delaware, Ohio 43015.
