Christie Childers-Husted left Perris High School, two years early, in 1990. As a single mom, having just turned 16 yrs old, she started Mt. San Jacinto Jr. College. After her parents' unexpected divorce in 91', Christie and her son moved with Christie's mother to Wyoming. Christie finished her under-graduate college education at Casper College, and the University of Wyoming. She received two Bachelor degrees in 96 and 97 from the University of Wyoming and co-founded the University of Wyoming/Casper College Center's first honor society in 1995. Christie Childers-Husted overcame odds (being a single teen mother, her parents' divorce and move out of state) and aspired to academic greatness. She obtained her PhD in 2008 from Capella University and is considered a ground-breaking researcher and author in the field of Corporate Criminology. Christie married her high school sweat heart, in 1993 and has three sons. Christie's story attests to fact that you can do anything you set your mind to, no matter if the odds are stacked against you!
