Hello Classmates! Wanted to get you up to date on our 35th Get-together that is planned for August 7, 8, 9th. We are tying into the Legends and Logging's Days Festivities. We are not using any of our class monies (saving for our 40th) and will not be sending out any invites. We will strictly spread the word through each other, social media and on our alumini sites we used for our 30th. We are honoring everyone's wishes to get together for our 35th, but will be keeping it very simple. The Legends and Logging Days Festivities start Thursday night with Water Fights on main. It would be fun to have a "Class of 79" team. If you are coming in on Thursday and want to do the water fights, let me (Bernie) know. Friday night eh American Legion always does a burger night so we thought we could all meet there and eat and drink. Saturday the logging days events are plentiful and we can come and go from that event as we choose. They do wonderful wood carvings at this event that are auctioned off at the end of the day, so if you have ever wanted one this might be the time to get one. The buzz word is that they are talking about having a band in the band shell. So we thought that would work great for us too. We also had some people suggest maybe a golf outing or Weeds said something about a "motorcycle ride." If someone wants to organize some of these events, please feel free to do so and keep the information and dialogue going here. As we get closer to the event we will give you more specifics and timelines on things. We hope to have a nice showing of classmates and regardless of how many are able to make...you know we always manage to have fun. Please let us know if you plan to attend. Formal invites are in the mail as of May 6th, so watch for them! We wanted to re-live the 70's the way we did in HS and have a big ole outdoor party. So we hope we have accomplished this task by having out event outside at Vacationaire. Plenty of 70's music will be provided, but most of all-just time hanging out and catching up.
