About Obituary: Diana Mae Kendall, 59, Detroit Lakes, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at her home. Diana was born July 29, 1950, the daughter of Sylvester and Opal (Robbins) Neis in Veblen, S.D. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1969. Diana married Oliver Kendall Aug. 30, 1969 in Park Rapids. They made their home in Wadena for a short time, before moving to Detroit Lakes in 1970. She worked as a waitress, had a children�s clothing business, was a daycare provider and worked at the Divine House in Detroit Lakes. Diana was a very friendly person with a great personality. She made all of her jobs a lot of fun. She loved all the people and the children that she worked with. Diana enjoyed going to rummage sales and thrift stores. Most of all, Diana enjoyed all the time that she got to spend with her children and grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were the main focal point of her life and she loved them with all her heart. Diana had a very large heart. Diana is survived by her husband, of forty years, Oliver Kendall of Detroit Lakes; son, Curtis Kendall of Anoka; daughter, Christine (Greg) Masteller of Frazee; five grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Coleton, Lane and Jacob; mother, Opal Ruter of Park Rapids; sister, Jane Neis and her husband, Gary Harkcom of Dumfries, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Paula Neis of Veradale, Wash. and Julie Neis of Nevis; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Diana was preceded in death by her father, and three brothers, Joseph, Roger and Daniel Neis. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m Monday, March 22, at West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23 at United Methodist Church, Detroit Lakes.
