George E. Adams

Class of 1985

Within 2 to 3 weeks of graduation and 85 I was off to boot camp in Florida. Those were the most stressful days I’ve had at that point I was I was not very physically active and I wasn’t used to being told what to do 24/day but I push through and was placed on a nuclear powered aircraft carrier out of San Francisco. Initially my tests seem to show I would be good as a medic but I just seen a program that most of those people go into the Marines and I wasn’t ready for that so chose SH Group which was all about hoping our shipmates have an easier time so we Managed ship stores and did laundry and dry cleaning. It was nice to learn the skills but to spend a career doing this it’s not for me. I did enjoy visiting all the different countries which were from areas such as Asia,Africa, Australia and South Pacific. After the navy I found odd jobs here and there such is working in Laughlin or in LA area and magic mountain around Halloween and around Halloween time at Knottsberry farm and then I eventually found the x-ray field where I am right now
