Kathleen Bonann Marshall
Class of 1967
It is never over: in 2018 after my second cancer was diagnosed, I finished “Dear Premises” a memoir and kind-of-critical book on the poet, James Merrill. UC Press has it available as an e-book and 240 downloads have been made in two years. I can’t really account for the enthusiasm but think it must be the 150 letters between JM and me from 1974 to 1994 (he died in February 1995). My two children and I were featured in the James Merrill House newsletter summer 2020 as “The Happy Family” with photos and remarks from 20 years of intimate friendship.
