About	MT. GILEAD: Ralph E. Bender, 67, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Thursday morning, September 14, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. The son of Charles and Elizabeth (Sauer) Bender, Ralph was born February 9, 1950 in Mansfield. He graduated from Ontario High School in 1968 where he played on the basketball and baseball teams. Ralph served in the Navy and was honorably discharged July 28, 1975. On September 4, 1970 he married Linda Miller of Bellville. For 22 years, Ralph worked for Westinghouse. He then retired from Whirlpool after working over 20 years. Ralph appreciated nature and American history. Family vacations were centered around national parks and civil war battle fields. He enjoyed bird watching and attending air shows. Strong in his faith, Ralph loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Bender of Mt. Gilead: Matthew (Rebecca) Bender of Bucyrus, Ryan (Megan) Bender and Kimberly Bender both of Fredericktown; grandchildren Savannah, Isaiah, Alena, Madison, Nolan, Chase, and Zachieus; brothers Darrell (Rose) Bender and Kenneth (Pat) Bender all of Ontario.
