Graduation Year Class of 1970
Date of Passing Sep 03, 2017
About a world where you can be anything, be kind.” Margaret A. (Peg) Owens, 65, died at home on Sept. 3, 2017 having lived her life as a truly kind person.

Those who knew her, loved her and will miss her deeply.

Peg was born April 2, 1952 to Joseph and Joan (Hiser) Gentille, the third of seven children. She loved her large family and cherished the moments with her children, siblings, their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peg attended Ontario High School, graduating in 1970. In her senior year of high school, Peg met Joseph Owens and they were married shortly thereafter. They lived a life of laughter, especially happy when their three children Joshua, Andrea and Danielle were born. Peg’s legacy of kindness was evident by the care her children provided her over this past year as she battled cancer.

Peg worked as a hairstylist for many years at Downtown Hairdesigners (Mansfield) and for the past 20 years as the office manager at the medical office of Dr. Lai (Crestline). When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed shopping, tending her many flower gardens, being with her dogs and when she could, sought her paradise at the ocean.

Peg mourned the loss of many loved ones through her life: her grandparents, niece Wendy Gentille, great niece Hannah Glauer, parents Joe and Joan Gentille, husband Joe Owens, her sister and best friend Sandi Wentz, and her beloved dog Bailey, as well as in-laws Ray Mileti, Bart Owens, and Beverly Martin.

Peg leaves behind many who love and will miss her. Tom Desbrough came into her life two years ago and she loved traveling, camping and laughing with him. A mom to anyone who needed one, the many friends of her children will miss their good listener and second mother.
